How We Help You Register Your Marriage

1. Document Preparation:

We’ll guide you through gathering the required documents, including:

  • Passport Photocopies

  • Certificates from your Embassy or Consulate proving your citizenship and single status

  • Then we’ll arrange Thai translations and certification by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

2. Application Process:

We prepare all paperwork, including Thai translation of the couple’s marital status certificates, and schedule your appointment at the District Office.

3. Registration Day:

We’ll accompany or meet you at the District Office, act as your interpreter, and ensure everything goes smoothly as you sign the documents and officially register your gay marriage in Thailand.

How Long Does it Take?

The entire process typically takes 4-6 weeks, depending on document processing times, appointment availability, and mailing services. This may seem like a long time, but keep in mind that Steps 1 and 2 are taken care of while you are still in your home country. The process is quick once you arrive in Thailand.

We have detailed the entire process on this PDF file, which we encourage you to save and refer to it throughout your marriage journey!

Will My Gay Marriage in Thailand Be Recognized Back Home?

Thai marriages are generally recognized in countries like the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, etc. provided they meet local legal standards (e.g., proper documentation). We’ll advise you on ensuring recognition back home.

How Much Does Marriage Registration Cost?

The following are the costs to hire EQuitus as your marriage registration guide in Thailand, and does not include fees, such as those associated with document translation and certification, which are quite modest.
